ANSA MOTORSPORTS AUDI DRIVERS FOUNTAS AND BENITEZ JR. WIN FARA SUNSET 500 MP1A CLASS
Following a great victory in the FARA USA Homestead 500 last April, ANSA Motorsports had a pair of customer AUDI R8 LMS entered in the 2016 FARA Sunset 500 last night at Homestead Miami Speedway. The No. 114 Audi R8 LMS was co-driven by Eric Johnson and Ernie Francis Jr. and the No. 222 Audi R8 LMS by Chris Fountas and Angel Benitez Jr.
After a grueling four-hour race on the iconic 2.23-mile Homestead Miami Speedway road course, Fountas and Benitez Jr. finished fourth overall in the race and won the MP1a class.
Overall winner of the FARA Homestead 500 last February, Johnson and Francis Jr. were one of the class contenders to win last night at Homestead, but unfortunately they encountered some problems and finished 26th yesterday.
The Sunset 500 event continues today with sprint races.
