ANSA MOTORSPORTS DRIVERS HAVE PODIUM AMBITIONS AT HOMESTEAD 500
ANSA Motorsports will have four cars competing in this weekend’s FARA Homestead 500 at Homestead Miami Speedway, Florida. This south Florida classic event will be featuring Sprint Races, practice and qualifying on Saturday, and the main Homestead 500 event on Sunday.
ANSA Motorsports had five cars in the FARA Miami 500 last November and its drivers finished third and fifth overall. ANSA Motorsports team owner Alain Nadal is looking for another great result this weekend at Homestead since each of the four ANSA racecars are podium finish contenders in their respective classes.
ANSA Motorsports clients will race a pair of AUDI R8 LMS in the MP-1A class competing for the overall win in the 2016 four-hour Homestead 500. Chris Fountas, who finished third overall with his AUDI last November in the 500 where he was paired with Guy Cosmo, will co-drive with 2012 Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge USA Gold Cup Champion, Angel Benitez, Jr. Benitez is one of the top GT racers in North America. He returned to the Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge USA last year and finished third in the 2015 Platinum class with five wins.
The other AUDI R8 LMS will be co-driven by car owner Eric Johnson and popular Florida professional racer, Ernie Francis, Jr. In 2015, Ernie Francis Jr. achieved four wins along with second place in the Pirelli World Challenge TC Drivers' Championship. Francis Jr. also won the 2015 Trans Am TA3 Championship for the second time in a row with eight wins out of twelve races. The driver from Southwest Ranches, Florida is not a rookie in FARA competition. In 2012 he won the FARA Championship. Francis Jr. and Johnson’s goal is to finish on the Homestead 500 podium on Sunday.
The third ANSA Motorsports customer entered in the upcoming Homestead 500 is Ken Bains. He will drive his own Honda Civic and will try to win the MP-4A class again like he did last November.
Two former ANSA Motorsports drivers including 2014 Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge USA Gold Cup Champion, Patrick Otto Madsen, return to the track at Homestead Miami Speedway this weekend. Madsen will co-drive an ANSA Motorsports Porsche GT3 Cup (model 991) with Ludovico Manfredi who has a lot of FARA racing experience. Manfredi competed in six rounds of the 2015 Mazda Prototype Lites championship with ANSA Motorsports and collected four podium finishes in the L-2 class including a win at CTMP. Manfredi and Madsen will drive in the sprint races on Saturday and Sunday.
