ANSA MOTORSPORTS SCORE TWO FOURTH PLACE FINISHES AT BARBER

Following a difficult race weekend in Long Beach, ANSA Motorsports led by team owner, Alain Nadal, and his driver, Lorenzo Trefethen, were prepared to battle hard at Barber Motorsports Park, for rounds 6 and 7 of the 2015 Pirelli Word Challenge GT Cup presented by MOMO. The No. 13 Trefethen Family Vineyards / BRM Chronographes Porsche, driven by the Napa Valley racer, Trefethen, ran strongly all weekend long and scored two fourth-place finishes, with the team capturing precious points toward the 2015 championship. In qualifying on Saturday morning, Trefethen qualified fourth, a very decent performance, knowing that it was the Californian’s first racing event ever on the 16-turn, 2.38-mile Barber road course. On Saturday morning, Trefethen had a good start and was able to run very competitive lap times. The No. 13 ANSA Motorsports Porsche had a problem-free, 50-minute race and finished fourth. IMG_6437 For race 2 on Sunday, Trefethen's No. 13 ANSA Motorsports Porsche carried a special decal on the doors, in memory of his friend, Dan Fredinburg, who perished in this week’s earthquake-induced avalanche, while climbing Mt. Everest for an "Expedition Everest" campaign. Fredinburg was there working for Save the Ice organization. 042615_Barber_BC_601864 Race 2 was supposed to have a standing start, but an incident at the start of the GT field, cancelled the standing start for the GT-Cup, and Trefethen and the other GT-Cup class competitors started under full-course yellow. Once again, Trefethen was able to race hard with some of the GT-Cup drivers, but was not able to catch Sloan Urry to finish on the podium to honor Fredinburg as he had hoped for. With the two Barber fourth place finishes, Lorenzo Trefethen is still ranked third in the 2015 Pirelli World Challenge after 7 rounds. ANSA Motorsports team is now back in Miami to prepare for the next rounds. Teams and drivers will head north of the border to Canadian Tire Motorsport Park in Bowmanville, Canada, held May 15-17.
