ANSA RACER LUDOVICO MANFREDI LOOKING FOR ANOTHER STRONG RESULT AT ROAD AMERICA

ANSA Motorsports, headquartered in Miami Gardens, is returning to the 2015 IMSA Cooper Tires Prototype Lites Powered by Mazda series this weekend at Road America with driver Ludovico Manfredi. Manfredi will drive the No. 30 ANSA Motorsports Prototype Lites Mazda in the L-2 class.

Manfredi’s last performance in the Cooper Tires Prototype Lites Powered by Mazda dates back a month to July at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, where he won the L-2 class of round 7 of the series. Manfredi’s victory in the series L-2 class was his first of the season, but it was his third podium finish of 2015 in only four races. “Road America is one of my favorite tracks in North America, and it has generally been good to me, both in IMSA Lites and previously in the Porsche GT3 Cup,” Manfredi said.  “It is a fast, flowing racetrack with nice elevation changes; it reminds me a bit of the unique and exceptional SPA-Francorchamps‎ in Belgium. The village of Elkhart Lake, Wisc., and its atmosphere during the race weekend greatly contributes to the pleasure of racing at Road America every year!” Manfredi is looking to score another podium finish at Road America with ANSA Motorsports. “The competition in the L2 class is finally heating up with more participants in the class. Todd Slusher and Brian Adler are way ahead of the rest of the racers, but there is a third spot on the podium up for grabs. And sometimes, one gets lucky, as we saw at CTMP in Canada one month ago...” IMG_5538 ANSA Motorsports team owner, Alain Nadal, who was a regular in the series in 2012, will also practice with his own Prototype Lites Mazda during the promoter test day on Thursday,  then will evaluate his participation in the event starting on Friday morning. For its first season in 2012, Nadal was at the wheel and, despite not competing in all of the 2012 races, he scored an impressive seven podium finishes in the L-2 class. The field at Road America will feature 27 cars -- a season high and the largest field for the championship since March 2010 at Sebring International Raceway. Round 9, a 30-minute race, will start at 10:40 a.m. (CT) Saturday, Aug. 8 at Road America. The 45-minute Round 10 will start at 10:05 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 9. Qualifying is set for 8 a.m. Saturday, with two practice sessions Friday, Aug. 7 on the fast, flowing, 14-turn, 4.048-mile circuit.
