On October 9, ANSA Motorsports driver, Brett Sandberg, clinched the 2016 Pirelli World Challenge GTS Driver’s Championship. It was an historic championship win, not only for Sandberg, but also for the ANSA Motorsports KTM X-Bow team, which was competing in its first season in the very disputed GTS championship.
The 2016 No. 13 ANSA Motorsports’ KTM X-Bow GT4 Pirelli World Challenge GTS Championship winning car will be on display on Sunday, November 13 at the 2016 Festivals of Speed at the Diplomat Golf and Tennis Club in Hallandale Beach, Florida.
Thanks to an outstanding ANSA Motorsports’ 2016 crew, Sandberg was able to showcase his exceptional driving skills and score an impressive collection of three wins, 11 podium finishes and nine pole positions.
The Festivals of Speed motorsports display will showcase over 200 exotic cars, motorcycles, and luxury brands. The Festivals of Speed show field has become known for its unique diversity, showcasing both vintage and contemporary vehicles of all makes and models placed for display amongst the splendor and hospitality of the magnificent property. ANSA Motorsports introduced the KTM X-Bow GT4 race car to North America with a win in the FARA Miami 500 just a year ago, and all season long, scored great results with drivers Brett Sandberg, Bill Ziegler, Dore Chaponick Jr., Hugh Plumb and Jason Wolfe. That helped the Austrian manufacturer, KTM, win its biggest auto-racing success so far and its first big recognition in North America.
Now that the 2016 championship is over ANSA Motorsports is working on selecting drivers and sponsors for the 2017 season. The goal for ANSA is to continue to run three KTMs in the 2017 PWC series.
The KTM X-Bow GT4 features the most advanced racing technology, which is normally only the case in higher categories. And in matters of safety, the monocoque technology offers the most unique protection ever in this GT4 class. The X-Bow (pronounces cross bow) showcases the typically futuristic KTM design. The KTM is powered by a 360 HP 2.0 liter Audi turbo engine.
In 2017, the Pirelli World Challenge (PWC) will feature sensational racing action as one of the world’s most competitive and entertaining sports-car racing series. The 2017 Pirelli World Challenge season is scheduled to open with the GT/GTA/GT Cup and GTS/GT4 classes in the streets of St. Petersburg, Florida on March 10-12.
