GREAT EXPECTATIONS FOR LORENZO TREFETHEN AND ANSA MOTORSPORTS AT LONG BEACH

For Lorenzo Trefethen who currently sits second in the GT-Cup point standings of the 2015 Pirelli World Challenge after four rounds, Long Beach is one of the most important races to add to his racing resume. The Southern California race is one of three California series stops this season, including the Trefethen home race in Sonoma later in August. IMG_5811 Forty Pirelli World Challenge drivers are getting ready to battle it out April 17-19 at the 'Roar by the Shore' presented by Replay XD, as part of the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach weekend. Round 5 for GT, GTA, and GT Cup presented by MOMO classes is set for Sunday, April 19 at 4:30 pm PDT on the 11-turn 1.968 mile street course in downtown Long Beach. Andy Witherspoon_FriAerial_283 Lead by team owner, Alain Nadal, the ANSA Motorsports’ crew has worked non-stop since their return to the shop after the St. Petersburg race, and they deserve to be commended for their dedication and effort. “I am proud of my team since they rebuilt our car after the big accident we suffered at St. Pete.” Nadal said. “Our car looks bran new again and hopefully it will run at peak performance all weekend. Racing at Long Beach has always been in my bucket list and I am so excited that ANSA Motorsports can be there racing in the 2015 Pirelli World Challenge.” ANSA Motorsports and Napa, California driver Lorenzo Trefethen are looking forward to their first participation as a team and driver in the iconic North American racing event. It is a race with special meaning for Trefethen. "I can't wait for the next race back home in California - looking forward to seeing all our friends in LA and flying the Trefethen colors through the streets of Long Beach. It's a race I've always wanted to do - still pinching myself that I'll be driving it!” Trefethen said. “I can't believe that I'm sitting second in the GT-Cup standings right now - it's a dream, way more than we expected. It's such a talented field out there, and I still need to find some time to run with Colin, Sloan, and Alec.  But we capitalized on the events in St. Pete, and I'm gaining confidence and pace with every outing.” IMG_5998 The 'Roar by the Shore' presented by Replay XD, as part of the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach weekend, is going to be an outstanding event for Trefethen Family Vineyards because California is their biggest market. Trefethen Family Wines will be served at multiple high-end events this week and the winery is also putting together a great program for the fans and wine lovers to be part of the Trefethen Racing program. 2012 Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach official artist, Erwin Dazelle, who designed the exciting and vibrant Trefethen Family Vineyards art car No. 13 Porsche, will be at the Trefethen Hospitality in Long Beach all weekend to meet the fans and sign autographs. Trefethen and the Pirelli World Challenge competitors will be on track Friday, April 17 morning at 10:45 a.m. PDT for the only practice session before qualifying. Qualifying is set for Saturday, April 18 at 8:30 a.m. PDT. Following a short morning session at 8:00 a.m., the 50-minute 'Roar by the Shore' presented by Replay XD race is scheduled for Sunday, April 19 at 4:30 p.m. PDT. About Trefethen Family Vineyards: In 1968, Eugene and Catherine Trefethen purchased seven farms surrounding a magnificent, but run-down, 19th-century winery in southern Napa Valley and created Trefethen Family Vineyards. The couple’s intention was to sell all their grapes, but their son, John, had other ideas. In 1973, aided by his new bride, Janet, John produced Trefethen Vineyards first commercial wine. True to the family’s vision of creating an acclaimed wine estate, they have never purchased outside grapes and are leaders in sustainable wine-growing. Today, the Trefethen family’s third generation, Loren and Hailey, assist their parents in continuing the family tradition of passion for the land, its people and the art of crafting exceptional Napa Valley wines.
