LORENZO TREFETHEN AND ANSA MOTORSPORTS PUT LONG BEACH IN THE REAR-VIEW MIRROR TO FOCUS ON BARBER

ANSA Motorsports and Lorenzo Trefethen came to Southern California to compete in round 5 of the 2015 Pirelli World Challenge with great expectations. Before the 'Roar by the Shore' presented by Replay XD race last Sunday in Long Beach, Trefethen was ranked second in the driver championship, and was looking to score a good handful of points and to consolidate a top-three championship position. Once again, the Pirelli World Challenge race was full of incidents, and Trefethen was caught in a mix of it. At the beginning of the race, the driver from Napa Valley was racing in the top three, but at mid-race, Trefethen’s involvement in an incident dropped him to sixth. Fortunately, that disappointing result did little damage to the point standings; after five races, Trefethen is now ranked third in the championship. IMG_6172 Outside the race track, Trefethen Family Vineyards had a perfect weekend in Long Beach. Following a Wednesday night wine dinner at Park Avenue in Stanton where Chef David Slay cooked a delicious four-course meal, the action moved to the iconic race track where Trefethen Family Vineyards partnered with duPont REGISTRY and Anderson Mobile Estates to showcase one of the most incredible hospitality units ever shown in motorsports. On Thursday night, Trefethen Family Wines were poured at the Road Racing Drivers Club Evening with Bobby Unser at the Hilton Long Beach Hotel, one of the “must attend” parties of the week. Throughout the weekend, Trefethen welcomed more than 200 guests at its hospitality events. The 2012 Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach artist, Erwin Dazelle, who created the look of the No. 13 Trefethen “art car”, gave a live painting performance before the guests. IMG_6213 Now that Trefethen and ANSA Motorsports have put the Long Beach race in the rear-view mirror, it is time to travel to Birmingham, Alabama to compete in rounds 6 and 7 of the 2015 Pirelli World Challenge Championships at the MOMO Grand Prix at Barber Motorsports Park presented by Porsche. As in Long Beach, the Pirelli World Challenge is sharing the track with the Stars of the Verizon IndyCar series. phoca_thumb_l_D1504LB1897MKS Trefethen will make his Alabama racing debut on the 16-turn, 2.38-mile Barber road course. "I had a great time at both St. Pete and Long Beach navigating the narrow streets and close walls,” Trefethen said. “But I'm certainly excited to be heading back to a more traditional type of road course, especially one as challenging as Barber Motorsports Park. It will be my first time ever to drive this track. But after spending extensive time on a simulator, I think it will be really fun!" IMG_6161 Trefethen and the Pirelli World Challenge competitors will be on track Thursday for a promoter test day.
