Last weekend ANSA Motorsports traveled to Road America, Wisconsin, to compete in two different series with two drivers. Ludovico Manfredi raced the No. 30 ANSA Motorsports Elan powered by Mazda in the IMSA Cooper Tires Prototype Lites L-2 class and Dore Chaponick Jr. competed in the Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge USA by Yokohama series driving the No. 79 ANSA Porsche GT3 Cup in the Gold Cup class. Manfredi had a good first race and finished third in the L-2 class, scoring another podium, his fourth of the 2015 season. In race 2, Manfredi was in contention for a podium finish but was involved in a racing incident where he had to spin his car to avoid a car ahead of him. Manfredi’s car never restarted and was forced to abandon the race. He finished 5th in the L-2 class. Dore Chaponick Jr. was making his sportscar racing debut in the 0215 Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge USA by Yokohama with ANSA Motorsports. Chaponick had a quick test in West Palm Beach a month before the race and spent some good time behind the wheel of a simulator in Miami to learn the Road America racetrack. Chaponick adapted really well and showed quickly that he will be one of the drivers to watch in upcoming Porsche Cup races. In race 1, Rookie Chaponick was hit by another competitor in the formation lap and was forced to pit to change tires. He lost one lap in the process. ANSA’s crew had a very quick pit stop and repair and Chaponick went on for his first ever Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge USA by Yokohama race. The young driver from Miami showed a good pace and improved his lap time lap after lap and finished 6th in class. In race 2, Chaponick had great expectations and was looking for a Gold Cup podium finish.
