TREFETHEN LOOKING TO TAKE ON THE STREETS OF ST. PETERSBURG. It is hard to imagine that three weeks have passed and that it is already time for the second event of the 2015 Pirelli World Challenge, to be raced this weekend in the streets of the Florida city of St. Petersburg. ANSA Motorsports will compete with one Porsche GT3 Cup in the St Petersburg PWC events with its season driver, Lorenzo Trefethen. Trefethen made his professional racing debut at COTA and was able to score two top five finishes in two races. As a result, he is ranked fifth in the driver championship before St. Petersburg rounds 3 and 4 of the 2015 championship. Unveiled at Austin, Texas, before the race, the No. 13 Trefethen Family Vineyards Porsche was a fan favorite in Texas. Kids and adult race fans loved the art car that French artist Erwin Dazelle designed. This weekend, the racetrack will offer an even more attractive environment to showcase the ANSA Motorsports art car, sponsored by Trefethen Vineyards, since the streets of St. Petersburg racetrack pass by the iconic Salvador Dali Museum. The Salvador Dalí Museum is home to an unparalleled collection of Salvador Dalí art, featuring more than 2,000 works, comprising nearly 100 oil paintings; more than 100 watercolors and drawings; and 1,300 prints, photographs, sculptures and objets d'art. The building is itself a work of art, featuring 1,062 triangular-shaped glass panels, nicknamed the Enigma – the only structure of its kind in North America. It provides an unprecedented view of St. Petersburg's picturesque waterfront. With the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach coming next month in Long Beach, Calif., the St. Petersburg racetrack is one of the most exciting racetracks on the schedule. The 1.8-mile, 14-turn circuit incorporates streets of downtown St. Petersburg and a section of runway of Albert Whitted Airport. A portion of the track is right by the water of the Gulf of Florida, and makes drivers and fans believe that they are racing in Monte Carlo. The ANSA team worked hard to prepare the car for the event, and Team Owner Alain Nadal is ready for this new challenge. Lorenzo Trefethen is also excited to race in Florida in front of many members of Trefethen Family Vineyards’ wine club. "We couldn't be happier than to bring the No. 13 ANSA Motorsports Trefethen Vineyards Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car to St. Petersburg,” Trefethen said. “This is an outstanding market for Trefethen Family Vineyards, and the opportunity to be a part of such a big event is tremendous. We look forward to hosting our friends in the market, and our distributor partner, Southern Wine and Spirits, on Wednesday night at Il Ritorno for a fun wine dinner. After Wednesday night, we then look forward to continuing the week both on track and at our accounts in St Petersburg. The opportunity to race in a downtown environment, such as this race in St. Petersburg, is something I look forward to experiencing." This weekend, the team will be co-sponsored by Festivals of Speed. FESTIVALS OF SPEED Founder and President Joe Sabatini had this to say…” FESTIVALS OF SPEED was founded in St. Petersburg 11 years ago and we are thrilled to be racing here where it all started…” Headquartered in Eustis, Florida, Festivals of Speed was founded as the ultimate luxury showcase for discerning enthusiasts with a passion for all forms of transportation. With a series of luxury lifestyle events scheduled throughout the year, Festivals of Speed displays the very best in automotive, aircraft, marine and motorcycle transportation with the finest luxury brands. ANSA Motorcars will be the main sponsor of that outstanding event, organized and promoted by Joe Sabatini. Taking place on the grounds of beautiful Museum Park, with an awe-inspiring view of the Miami skyline and Biscayne Bay, the Luxury Lifestyle Motorsports & Yacht display will be the theme of this incredible weekend. Guests will experience a fabulous display of vintage and contemporary automobiles, custom-created motorcycles, high- performance boats and the finest luxury-lifestyle products. "After a really positive opening race at COTA, we all come here as a team, ready to tackle the unique elements that street racing provides,” Trefethen said. I have never raced on a temporary course, such as this track in St. Petersburg. Therefore, for me, as a driver, this will be the biggest area to gain experience in my approach. Between the close walls and the city-road conditions, this type of environment is one that will take a bit of time to absorb. However, I also know that my ANSA Motorsports Trefethen Racing Porsche team has a ton of experience in adapting to this type of event. This makes me feel confident we will learn quickly.” Trefethen and the Pirelli World Challenge competitors will be on track Thursday, March 26, for a one-hour testing session at 3:00 p.m. EDT. Practice for the 2015 St. Petersburg Cadillac Grand Prix starts Thursday, March 26, at 5:30 p.m. GT-Cup Qualifying for race 1 is set for Friday, March 27, at 5:45 p.m. EDT.
