TREFETHEN, ANSA SCORE TWO TOP-FIVE AT MID-OHIO
Lorenzo Trefethen and ANSA Motorsports continue to score good results together in the 2015 Pirelli World Challenge. Driving the No. 13 ANSA Motorsports / Trefethen Family Vineyards/750 Group/BRM Chronographes/PitStop Furniture/Durango Operating Porsche GT3 Cup last weekend in rounds 12 and 13 of the championship, Trefethen was able to score two top-five finishes in the highly competitive GT-Cup class. Trefethen finished fourth in race 1 on Saturday and fifth in race 2 on Sunday.
The Napa Valley driver came to Mid-Ohio with a challenge in mind: Save his 2nd place in the GT-Cup point standings. The challenge was tough, and despite doing his best in both races, his direct competitor, Sloan Urry, finished ahead of Trefethen in races 1 and 2, making it impossible for Trefethen to maintain his 2nd place in the 2015 Pirelli World Challenge rankings. After 13 rounds, Trefethen is now 3rd in the point standings, only 14 points behind Urry and a comfortable 154 points ahead of 4th-place Preston Calvert, with five races to go.
The weekend started on a positive note. Trefethen Family Vineyards hosted club members and guests, on Wednesday night, at The Cabin Tavern & Grill in Ashland. The guests in attendance shared wine and racing conversations with Lorenzo Trefethen, who attended the wine dinner. A dozen of the members came to Mid-Ohio on Saturday and Sunday to cheer on Trefethen and see him in action around the track.
ANSA Motorsports unveiled the new official T-shirt soon to be available online, and its new V6-44-SA BRM Chronographes that is now for sale at $4,450 on the team’s website.
